Sustainable Minerals Institute Scheme for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students
The aim of the bursary scheme is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander UQ HDR scholars to engage with global issues of responsible and sustainable minerals development, such as the imperatives of sustainable development, cultural heritage protection and environmental stewardship. The Sustainable Minerals Futures HDR Scholars will be supported and encouraged to network, engage and develop critical, innovative thinking about the environmental, social and governance challenges facing the resources industry in Australia and the world today.
Discover Indigenous Scheme (Government scheme)
Discovery Indigenous scheme provides funding to support research programs led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers and build research capacity of higher degree research and early career researchers.
Grants from the ARC are made to organisations, not individual researchers or research teams.
LeadHers
LeadHers is targeted at women across all disciplines who are, or want to become, a manager, entrepreneur, researcher or academic. The program aims to support women to become more confident in their leadership capabilities while exploring common challenges most professional female leaders face in their career. All female-identifying students, staff and alumni are welcome to apply.
Queensland International Student Advisory Panel (QISAP)
The Queensland International Student Advisory Panel (QISAP) is an initiative under the International Education and Training Strategy to Advance Queensland. QISAP gives students a voice in the implementation of the strategy.
QISAP membership is selected at the start of each year and is comprised of international students representing different nationalities, gender, levels of study, and regions of Queensland to harness the diversity of the international student voice. QISAP advises Study Queensland on key issues international students face living and studying in Queensland and also co- designs the International Student Leadership Forum (ISLF) and the International Students Meet Parliament (ISMP) events held each year.
UQ Career Advancement for Senior Academic Women
The role of Professor at UQ indicates an international reputation for academic excellence and leadership.
The program is designed for academic women at Level D who are:
- eligible to apply for promotion to Level E as per the Promotion to Professor Policy [5.80.14]
- motivated to apply for promotion within 5 years of completing the program.
UQ Career Progression for Women Program (CPW)
This program is designed for academic women at Level C who are actively pursuing career development within UQ. It provides participants with the opportunity for both personal and professional growth and helps them to clarify and pursue their career goals in an academic environment.
UQ Early Career Academic Development Program
The Early-Career Academic Development Program is designed to help you transition from being a leading academic to an academic leader and is specifically targeted at Level A or B staff who are in approximately their first 5 years of employment after completing a PhD.
Women's Research Assistance Program (WRAP) (Government scheme)
This scholarship is to support female scientists to maintain their research, while on maternity or adoption leave. Funding of up to $26,000 (excluding GST) is available for eligible organisations, to contribute to employing a researcher or research/laboratory assistant to help maintain research progress during or immediately following a maternity break.
