Postgraduate Coursework Program

An Integrated Approach

To help meet the changing professional training and development needs of the extractive resources sector, the Responsible Resource Development program is built around two common core courses, engaging directly with the sustainable development agenda at both the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma level.

The program structure gives students the opportunity to take further courses in one of three thematic areas: environment, health and safety, and community relations. Students continuing to the Master Degree level complete their program with a supervised thesis.

The Responsible Resource Development program is for both industry professionals seeking to broaden their knowledge base, as well as graduates planning on exploring future career opportunities within the sector.

This unique program provides graduates with in-depth understanding of sustainability and its role in the extractives industry; facilitate the development of higher order skill sets in problem solving, effective communication, project management and teamwork; in addition to content specialisation for a more holistic approach to future career development. Through the Sustainable Mineral Institutes community, students have access to Australian and global industry experts through courses delivered in flexible and intensive modes, providing face time with lecturers through online webinars and periodic campus workshops.
