Michelle is the Technical and Administration Officer for the Sustainable Minerals Institutes (SMI), Transformational Learning team. Leveraging her background in film and television, she brings a creative and multimedia-focused approach to designing and developing engaging online courses.

Michelle is deeply passionate about crafting dynamic learning experiences that resonate with learners. Currently enrolled in the Micro-masters program in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Maryland Global Campus, Michelle actively seeks to expand her knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of online course development. Collaborating closely with academics, professional staff and students, she plays a vital role in creating innovative and interactive learning materials.

Michelle's journey with the Sustainable Minerals Institute began in 2014 when she joined as the Administration Assistant for the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM). Her exceptional administrative skills, effective communication and event coordination quickly made her an asset within the organisation. Michelle also provided administrative support to the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre (MISHC) and contributes to the broader initiatives of the SMI.

Michelle's outstanding contributions have earned her well-deserved recognition. In 2016, she received the High Commended - SMI Service and Support Award, and she was twice honoured with scholarships through the University of Queensland's Professionals Network in 2016 and 2021.

In addition to her current position, Michelle has an extensive background as an Office Manager for SSE Specialised Stage Engineering Pty Ltd, where she honed her skills in administration, reception, and customer service.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and English from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Film and Television Studies from the Queensland University of Technology.
