Tubagus Dwika Yuantoko is a PhD Candidate at the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre (MISHC) within the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI), The University of Queensland.
Prior to commencing his PhD, Tubagus was a junior researcher at Universitas Indonesia, within the Department of Occupational Health and Safety and the Center for Assessment and Application of Occupational Health and Safety, Faculty of Public Health. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Universitas Indonesia.
Tubagus has extensive experience working with multinational and multi-site organizations across various industries in Indonesia, including mining, oil and gas, transportation, and manufacturing. His work has focused on safety culture assessment and development, safety leadership, safety management systems, ergonomics, and psychosocial risk.
Tubagus Master’s research applied a sociotechnical systems approach to accident analysis, reflecting his strong interest in human and organisational factors in safety. His research interests include safety management, organisational influences on workplace safety, and the application of systems thinking, sociotechnical perspectives, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles. Through his PhD, Tubagus aims to advance the practical application of these concepts within the mining and minerals industry to improve safety outcomes.
