Dr Reinier M Mann is the current Science Leader within the Water Quality and Investigations (WQI) group within the Science Division of the Queensland Department of Environment and Science. He received a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from Curtin University in the year 2000 and has over 20 years of research experience in the field of environmental toxicology.

Dr Mann is the author of over 50 peer reviewed research articles examining a diverse range of subjects, including the toxicity of saline waters in the Fitzroy Basin, development of bioassays for the assessment of benthic sediments, toxicity of silver in freshwater organisms and trophic assimilation of metals in terrestrial organisms. With a specific interest in the sub-discipline of amphibian and reptile ecotoxicology, Dr Mann has published several highly cited articles on amphibian toxicology, including a 2009 review article, titled Amphibians and agricultural chemicals: review of the risks in a complex environment published in Environmental Pollution, and a series of articles examining the toxicology of pesticides in lacertid lizards.

Dr Mann is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Bulletin of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry, which is a publication of the Australasian Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry - Asia Pacific.
