Risk and Critical Control Management

The Sustainable Minerals Institute at The University of Queensland are pleased to present a one-day short course on ‘Risk and Critical Control Management’ developed by Professor Jim Joy, Dr Maureen Hassall, and Associate Professor Carmel Bofinger. Building on the Global Minerals Industry Risk Management program (G-MIRM), the one-day course aims to confirm and expand the understanding and application of risk management and the integration of critical control systems. 

The course will focus on major hazards, and will cover:

  • Review of requirements of risk management systems
  • Quality bowtie analysis
  • Control and critical control selection process
  • Critical control performance and reporting
  • Critical control verification and maintenance

The knowledge will be supported by worked examples to establish the practical application of the principles introduced. These practice examples will facilitate the incorporation of CCM into the workplace by demonstrating the change in focus essential to successful CCM.
