Professor Maureen Hassall - research lead - is facilitating two workshops in Argenton and Sydney between April and June 2026 to gain insights from people working within the NSW coal mining industry. This research project is led by the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre (MISHC) and funded by the Coal Services Health and Safety Trust.

These workshops will examine how critical control management can be adapted to strengthen psychosocial safety in NSW coal mines.
They are open to anyone working in the NSW coal industry - your insights and on the ground experience is essential to shaping practical, evidence based guidance for the sector to improve psychosocial safety outcomes across NSW coal mines.
Participants are welcome to attend one or both workshops.
