Researcher biography

Sicheng Cai is a master student majoring in Environmental Management from School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) at The University of Queensland. 

Previously, Sicheng worked at the Solid Waste Treatment Centre of the Fujian Academy of Environmental Sciences (China). During this time, he was involved in projects on remediation and rehabilitation of lead-zinc legacy mines, as well as application of indigenous microorganisms on mining waste treatment.

Currently, Sicheng is conducting a year-long research project with the Mine Waste Transformation through Characterisation (MIWATCH) group at the WH Bryan Mining Geological Research Center where he will be participating in the mining waste characterisation for the critical elements recovery project.
