Torben Wuestemann attended the University of Hamburg, where he received a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Geoscience.

With an interest in mineral exploration and mining, Torben focused his studies on problems relevant to the minerals industry. His work includes the structural analysis of the Sudbury Igneous Complex and its ore deposits. Torben spent several field seasons in the area, heading up teams of student geologists working on fault-slip problems and exploration strategies. After a stint working for a junior exploration company in in Greenland, he recently joined the Sustainable Minerals Institute at The University of Queensland in Australia. His current work concerns the geological variability of ore deposits across Australia and the greater Oceania region, and its implications for mineral processing strategies.
