SMI and SMI-CSRM are proud to lead the DFAT flagship program: Australia Awards Africa Short Course for 9th time since 2011. The course brings groups of mining professionals to Australia for 4 weeks training at SMI followed by an extended field trip in Africa where they are asked put into practice what they have learned. The theme for 2017 is Local Economic and Social Development in the Extractives.
The Australian Awards Africa short course alumni Justin Anumnu was highlighted by Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in her speech at the Africa Down Under Conference on the 8th of September, 2017.
