Abstract:  This seminar will present on how passive seismic monitoring data has uses beyond operational risk management.

Bio: Willem de Beer has over twenty-five years' experience in mine induced seismicity in South Africa, Australia, South America, North America, Indonesia.  He is currently leading ESG expansion into Australasian market and is the ESG project manager for PTFI Grasberg.  Willem's interests are in seismic hazard management, correlation of seismic response and production, and increasingly in understanding the role of quantitative passive seismic data analysis in rock mass characterisation.
