Abstract: SEM-EDS technologies for rock characterisation has moved in Automated Mineralogy space from MLA and QEMSCAN to new solutions design to improve on Elemental Quantification, Mineral Identification, Imaging (Textural characteristics) and Automation. Automated Mineralogy is now more accessible, accurate and easy to use than ever before.

Bio: Leonardo Salazar is a Geologist and Product Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific since 2012. He has been working on Automated Mineralogy solutions since 2007 and X-ray Micro CT technologies since 2014. He is very passionate about making Digital Rock Analysis solutions accessible to everyone, in both academia and industry. He obtained his Geology degree with honors from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Currently living in Brisbane Australia, Leonardo is involved in multiple projects across the globe promoting high resolution technologies for geological applications, providing training, and deeply involved on R&D activities for SEM-EDS.

Welcome to the 2023 Series of the JKMRC Friday Seminars.  The list of presentations will aim to cover a range of topics related to the minerals sector from decision making in exploration, new mineral processing technologies, social licence to operate and mine closure.
