Speaker:  Will Mosley, Chief Commercial Officer, RayGen

Abstract:  Most analyses of the energy transition focus on global, macro data – exponential growth in renewables and storage, exponential demand for battery minerals, falling system costs and reduced demand for fossil fuels, including coal. Yet, in many countries, including Australia, the energy transition has stalled, energy prices have increased and we remain on track for 3-4 degrees of warming. How and why is there such a breakdown between these macro-analyses – presenting inexorable growth – and the reality on the ground? What barriers need to be overcome for the energy transition to proceed, and what opportunities exist for mining?
