Trials, tribulations and occasional successes of commercialising innovative mineral processing technologies
Starting as a trainee miner at Western Holdings Gold Mine in South Africa and then as the registered manager of the Bobbejaan Diamond Mine near Kimberley, Jonathan Loraine has 40 years of senior level mining industry operational and commercial experience in Europe, Africa, North and South America, and Australasia. This has encompassed development and commercialisation of innovation, exploration management, project development and financing, and operational management across all sectors of the resources industry. His current focus is on the development and implementation of innovation for the clean and sustainable production of the minerals that the world requires.
There are a host of non-technical issues that need to be addressed in order to successfully commercialise technology in the resources industry. The lecture will discuss a range of actions which can greatly assist your technology to be implemented in industry.
