Speaker:  Associate Professor Steven Micklethwaite

Abstract:  There are complex issues driving the minerals industry to explore at greater depths. In this webinar, Steven will go through the significant opportunities for discovery but also the significant implications for mining methods and stewardship.

Bio:  Steven’s interests span from exploration and novel mining techniques such as insitu-recover, to data visualisation and interoperability, including the application of drones and data analytics across the mining value chain. He served as Discovery Manager for a Tier 1 mining and exploration company and has worked in a variety of industry-focused research centres, involving mapping and industry-related R&D across four continents.

Welcome to the 2021 Series of the JKMRC Friday Seminars.  The list of presentations will aim to cover a range of topics related to the minerals sector from decision making in exploration, new mineral processing technologies, social licence to operate and mine closure.

The JKMRC Friday Seminars will be presented both in person, at the Indooroopilly Mine Site Lecture Theatre, and also as webinar.  Registration for the webinar is required and can be made via the registration link in each seminar overview.
