Dr Juan Frausto Gonzalez is a Chemical Engineer with 15 years of experience in the mining industry.

Originally from Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, Juanjo has worked across several roles, including production, research, business development and optimisation projects. He completed is PhD at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) with a thesis is titled "The impact of classification efficiency on comminution performance and flotation recovery" in 2020. During his time at the JKMRC, he was awarded the Best Presentation Award at the AusMin "MetPlant 2017 International Conference" and the prestigious 2017 Ian Morley Award. Juanjo also had the opportunity to work for Metso in Canada, in several roles from 2018 to 2023. During this time he was part of the optimisation group, as well as their process technical sales support team before Juanjo joined JKMRC as a researcher in June 2023. His interests includes efficient comminution technologies, improved circuit design, as well as advances in flotation performance and characterisation.
