Gerda Gloy holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Geology and started her career at the Council for Geoscience in South Africa as a field geologist.

Previously, Gerda has worked as Process Mineralogist with Anglo Platinum, where her main focus was the application of Automated mineralogy (MLA) to describe the mineralogical characteristics of platinum-group minerals in Bushveld ore. In 2007 she relocated to Brisbane and since then has been involved in the application and training for Automated Mineralogy for various companies including JKTech, FEI, Bruker and NewSpec. Gerda has experience in the application of Automated Mineralogy across a range of commodities including oil and gas and industrial minerals.
