Akash is a PhD candidate with the Development Minerals Program in the Sustainable Minerals Insitute at the University of Queensland. Akash has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Technology (Hons) in Construction Technology and Management. His research focused on a Feasibility Study to Synthesize Fly ash based Geopolymer Foam Concrete. Akash's PhD thesis is on the adoption of low-carbon cement in the Pacific, where he is exploring the potential alternatives to general-purpose cement in Fiji, and also working on the early age properties of the limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3).
