Mr Paul Dowd

Mr Dowd is a mining engineer with more than 50 years industry experience, primarily in the private sector, but also serving in the Public Sector as head of the Victorian Mines and Petroleum Departments.  He has held senior executive positions with Newmont and prior to that Normandy and Aurora Gold.  He was Managing Director of Newmont Australia Limited and Vice President Australia and New Zealand Operations for Newmont Mining Corporation and later, Managing Director of Phoenix Copper Limited and remains an NED.  He has been responsible for operations in Australia, USA, Côte d'Ivoire, Turkey, Greece, New Zealand, Indonesia, and PNG, as well as experience in Peru, Bolivia, Canada, Ghana, and Uzbekistan.

Mr Dowd is an NED of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd, an NED of PNX Minerals Ltd, a Director (ex-Inaugural Chairman) of RESA, (the SA Resources & Engineering Skills Alliance), Chairman of the CSIRO, Minerals Sector Advisory Council, (MRSAC), and currently has various advisory positions with SA Minerals and Petroleum Expert Group, The University of Queensland – Sustainable Minerals Institute.

Mr Dowd recently retired as an NED of Oz Minerals Limited and is a former Non-Executive Director of Northgate Minerals Corp (Canada), Macarthur Coal Limited, Regis Resources Ltd, Parsons Brinkerhoff Asia Pacific - Advisory Board Member and Chair, Adelaide Resources Ltd.
