Dr. Barış G. Yildirim, PhD. is a mining excutive well linked with the Turkish and global mining industry. Baris Yildirim is a mining engineer and geologist based in Ankara, Turkey and has 15+ years of experience in the mining industry. He completed his PhD at the Sustainable Mineral Institute, University of Queensland, in integrated project in geology, mining and processing with research funded by Anglo American mining company. Baris has eight technical publications. He has worked at Almin minerals and Aldur Mining as mining engineer. Baris has recently worked as a project geologist for Teck Resources in Turkey and managed multiple exploration projects. His work at Teck was awarded twice, as 'New Discovery' and 'Best Work Proposal' during his exploration project experience. Additionally, Barış has worked as a geometallurgist for Teck Metals in Canada, and executed integrated geometallurgy projects between Highland Valley Copper Mine, Antamina Pb-Zn-Cu Operation and the Applied Research Center (ART) in Canada. He has worked as mining advisor to the board of directors of Kolin, Hekimhan Mining; Koza Gold; Stratex Plc; Horzum Mining and Pasinex and has also been appointed as a board member at three mining companies. His last role at Pasinex was General Manager. Baris was involved with the building of the Pinargozu Pb-Zn-Cu Underground Mine from the project acquistion to the production stage. He is currently Chairman of Organik Madencilik Industrial Mineral which is the first vermiculite producing mining company of Turkey. His current role is Independent Mining Consultant on mine development, plant improvement, resource and reserve calculation. He was recently appointed to the National Reserve Committee (UMREK) as a member, by the Energy Minister and elected as representative of Turkey in CRIRSCO.
