Dr Ben Adair is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of CRC ORE. Ben brings a strong background in research and operational management along with a broad industry network to his role heading up CRC ORE.
His interests are focused primarily on the application of mineral processing technologies for operational improvement with a particular focus on step change innovations to improve the energy, water and productivity signatures of mining operations.
Prior to taking up this role in November 2015, Ben had been with the University of Queensland (UQ) Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI). Here he served initially as the Director of the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC), then as Director of the Rio Tinto Centre for Advanced Mineral Separation and finally as Deputy Director (Technical) of SMI. Prior to joining UQ, he worked in a variety of Industry roles including with Rio Tinto (in the USA and Australia) and in the South African Platinum Industry.
