Tim Horberry re-joined MISHC in May 2022 as Professor of Human-Centred Safe Design. Before that he was Professor of Human Factors at Monash University Accident Research Centre. Tim's areas of expertise include human factors, safety, human-centred design and human performance studies. He has conducted research for over 25 years at leading universities and research centres including Cambridge University, the Transport Research Laboratory (UK) and Monash University. Tim's work is primarily in mining and road transport, but he has also undertaken extensive work in rail, medical and industrial domains. Over his career, Tim has been chief investigator/lead researcher on grants worth over $20million, successfully supervised over 25 PhD and Masters degree students and he has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and written/edited 6 books.
