Dr Louisa O'Connor has a diverse experience within the mining industry and academia.  She is a technical leader and has significant expertise in the fields of process mineralogy and geometallurgy and analytical techniques for many commodities.  Her experiences include working for the JKMRC, Curtin University and Sydney University, as research Theme Leaders and Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning, and, most recently in strategy and governance for ore body knowledge with machine learning at the Rio Tinto Centre for Mine Automation.  She has worked for BHP Technology and Olympic Dam, Fortescue Metals Group, Arup, JKTech and Bureau Veritas and other consulting companies.
