As a Strategic Advisor to the CSRM Director’s office, Janet has been appointed to lead the development of new areas of research work in community and social performance-related aspects of the minerals industry. She has a key role in mentoring CSRM staff on industry engagement and mentoring Communities and Social Performance practitioners in the field.

Janet has worked extensively with communities and businesses across Australia and in Mongolia, India, Serbia, Namibia and South Africa. She holds tertiary qualifications in Applied Science and Health Management and has over 35 years management and leadership experience in the public sector and in consulting to private, government and not for profit sectors. Janet has successfully lead community development and stakeholder engagement processes in the Mining, Gas and Property sectors and has worked extensively with multidisciplinary teams undertaking processes such as strategic planning, social risk analysis, socio-economic analysis and impact assessment, program implementation, evaluation and policy review. 

Janet is the Industry Working Group liaison for the CSRM Social Aspects of Mine Closure Consortium. During 2019 she will also be supporting Rio Tinto on a range of Communities and Social Performance projects.
