Macro and micro techniques for the disposal and amendment of bauxite residues

Poly-mineral cross-linking structure formation in alkaline bauxite residues

Xingyun Guo's study focuses on poly-mineral structure formation. In this study, the effects of chemical composition of bauxite residues on the microstructure and mechanical properties are investigated. The effects are attributed to the difference in geo-polymerisation reaction. The mechanical properties are studied by unconfined compression strength (UCS) tests, while the composition and microstructure are examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Biography

Xingyun did his undergraduate degree majoring in Mining Engineering in China. He then commenced studying for his Mphil in the field of mining-related environmental improvement.
