Colonisation and function of cyanobacteria in Fe-ore tailing-soil
Zhen's research will focus on the role of Cyanobacteria in the transformation of Fe minerals and the formation of technosol for colonisation of plant in magnetite Fe-ore mines.
Biography
Zhen is a PhD candidate of China Agricultural University and was sponsored by Chinese Scholarship Council to collaborate with CMLR to undertake frontier research under the supervision of Professor Longbin Huang. Zhen's research is focussed on monitoring and improvement of the mined land environment, including soil fertility and soil environment quality. Based on the results of environmental investigation, some strategies and management suggestions such as landscape reconstruction and soil remediation will be recommended.
