Dr Bellson Awatey is an early career researcher whose primary interests are in flotation of coarse particles.

Bellson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in minerals engineering from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana and a PhD in minerals and materials engineering from the Ian Wark Research Institute, University of South Australia. His PhD research topic was “Fluidised-bed flotation of coarse sulphide minerals: factors influencing value recovery” within the AMIRA P260F series.

After completing his PhD in 2015, Bellson returned to UMaT as a lecturer in the minerals engineering department for two years prior to joining UniSA’s Future Industries Institute as a research associate, before picking up a process engineering role at SIMEC Mining (previously Arrium Mining) in Whyalla, South Australia.
