Dr Kathleen Cato is the Business Manager for the W.H. Bryan Mining and Geology Research Centre and holds a PhD in Medical Science from The University of Queensland.
Kathie brings to SMI a wide range of experience in research management including pre-award research grant preparation and post-award grant establishment and administration. In the central UQ Research Office Kathie worked with researchers to develop high quality grant proposals for national, international, government and industry funded research schemes. In the post-award space, she supported researchers in the management of their projects, report preparation and compliance with their obligations to UQ and to the Funder.
Kathie enjoys supporting SMI researchers who are building successful research careers solving economic and environmental problems in the mining sector that contribute to a sustainable future.
