The JKMRC Mine Energy Transformation and Integration Program leads research in a variety of energy related topics in the mining industry. The Program collaborates broadly, and in particular works with UQ’s leading energy and sustainability groups such as the UQ Energy Initiative and the Dow Centre. The main areas of focus currently include:

  • CEEC energy curves development
  • Renewables and energy technology adoption and deployment in mining operations
  • ‘Zero-carbon’ mines and emissions reduction
  • Energy flows & energy use mitigation analysis
  • Operational strategies for reduced energy consumption
