SMI-JKMRC Mine Energy Transformation and Integration Program - Comminution optimised for Grade Engineering (GE)

This project undertakes laboratory-based research into enhancing coarse gangue liberation through precisely controlled breakage energy using traditional and next generation Vertical Shaft Impactor (VSI) technologies. The research focuses on:                                                                                                       

• Rejection of coarse clean gangue from a wider range of ore types
• Use precisely controlled breakage to enhance the current GE approach
• Develop laboratory testing protocols to identify ores suitable for coarse liberation
• Gain significant reduction in unite energy consumption
