The Integrated Program

Enrolments for 2020 are currently suspended.

The program is currently being reviewed and revised. Please sign up to hear from us about our new postgraduate offerings.

The unique structure of the Responsible Resource Development program aims to give students a firm foundation in the principles of sustainable development at the beginning of their program.

Students enter the program with a common core course, Sustainable Development in the Resources Sector, which incorporates a one week intensive workshop at The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus. As this program is offered almost entirely online, this week of coming together will provide face to face interaction with students, teachers, and the wider community within the University's Sustainable Minerals Institute.
A second core course, Sustainable Development in the Resources Sector – Tools and Integration, is offered at the Graduate Diploma level of the program, again bringing together all students to share knowledge from their unique specialisations with each other.
For students who undertake the integrated program rather than specialise in the two fields of study (community relations, and health and safety), a combination of subjects from across courses in health and safety, community relations and environment to a total number of required units for each award level can be taken subject to approval by the Program Convenor.
This integrated program is suitable for any resource industry professional who requires an overview of the main issues and questions which confront the extractives industry in Australia and globally.
