Carmel Bofinger attended the 2017 Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in October. Government representatives from 22 nations shared real-world experiences and insights during the sessions with presentations from Government representatives and technical experts and specialists working in areas ranging from mine closure to social services. Carmel was invited as a member of the Technical Committee for the UNDP Development Minerals Program. A bonus at the Forum was the IM4DC Alumni Dinner that bought together friends from previous IM4DC programs.
