MIWATCH welcome new researcher Lexi Kng

MIWATCH are pleased to welcome Le Xi Kng (Lexi) to the team as a Research Officer. Lexi is a geoscientist specialising in the sampling and characterisation of mine waste deposits. She will be working on projects focused on characterisation and resource potential of mine wastes.

Lexi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geography from the University of Tasmania (2018). After completing her Bachelor of Science, she completed her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Environmental Geochemistry, with a focus on characterising geochemical and physical properties of tailings, Rosebery Tasmania. This research project was part of the Transforming the Mining Value Chain (TMVC).

 

Professionally, Lexi worked at an environmental consultancy as a geoscientist on a range of industry and government projects from exploration through to rehabilitation and closure (2020-2022).

 

We are very excited to welcome Lexi to the team and we are positive she will be working on a range of projects across Australia applying her multidisciplinary skills in AMD prediction and tailings characterisation, in collaboration with various teams across SMI and UQ!
