Speaker: Mathew Hancock

Abstract: Rapid technological development is transforming many aspects of our society.  We are seeing new ‘digital centric’ businesses dramatically outperform their conventional peers – re-inventing their business processes around automation, data and machine learning.  What does this mean for how we manage risk in the minerals industry?  This webinar will frame some of the challenges we face in managing risk today and explore how advances in technology could change the way we work in the future.  We need to imagine today what we won’t be able to imagine living without tomorrow.

Bio: Mathew Hancock is an alumnus of the Sustainable Minerals Institute having completed his PhD at SMI's Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre. He is now a research advisory group member for the Centre.
