Researcher biography

Nyssa specialises in risk management and hazard identification methods for industrial processes.

Over the last 15 years Nyssa has worked in academia and industry, across the fields of risk management, process optimisation, process control and data analytics. She has significant industry experience working in a major hazard facility processing hydrocarbons for the production of polypropylene.

Nyssa’s main area of research is the use of artificial intelligence in chemical engineering applications. She is currently a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering, applying machine learning tools to pharmaceutical production processes.  She is interested in how industry can extract information from existing processes and apply techniques for improved efficiency and understanding.
