Dale Temby has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) with experience working in process safety consulting, enterprise risk, risk research, and data management. Her diverse experience has given her a holistic approach to understanding risk, identifying what is working well, and what needs to be addressed across many risk management tools and industries. She commenced her part-time PhD to understand the front-line experience of contractors in hazardous industries and what might be affecting their safety outcomes. Her research led her to investigate safety data and how it influences decision making in safety interventions.

Dale’s research is aimed at improving how safety data is captured, analysed and communicated. She is developing a framework to improve granularity in safety data capture to gain meaningful insights in safety data and analysis as well as understand the barriers and drivers to implementing this framework.
