A University of Queensland researcher has co-written the first publicly available Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA) for a proposed gas project in Papua New Guinea.

SMI and the UQ Business School ran a workshop for women leaders in the mining industry in Santiago, Chile.

Carmel Bofinger attended the 2017 Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in October. Government representatives from 22 nations shared real-world experiences and insights during the sessions

SMI’s Grant Ballantyne is set to be assistant editor of the new Minerals Engineering Journal.
