Generic Mill Model: This project focuses on developing a dynamic AG/SAG & ball mill model for model-informed Process Control. The purpose of the project is to enhance live control-room based systems that assist operators and engineers to optimise circuit performance. Key capabilities:

  • Predict mill charge composition in real time (% filling, % slurry)
  • Detect onset of slurry pooling
  • Model responds to liner wear over liner life
  • Predict impact-toe position independently of acoustic measurements
  • Predict grind size and grind efficiency using dynamic a population-balance grinding model
  • Alert operators to atypical process conditions
