An ARC Discovery 3-year project involving academic collaborators from CSRM, the University of Melbourne, The University of Queensland, Catholic University of the North (Chile) and Copperbelt University (Zambia). This project aims to improve the sustainability of resource-led development in Australia and worldwide in relation to mining development outcomes and community aspirations.

CSRM is one of 4 partners awarded funding under the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Discovery scheme.
This $314,642 project runs for 3 years and brings together academic collaborators from CSRM, the University of Melbourne, The University of Queensland, Catholic University of the North (Chile) and Copperbelt University (Zambia).

This project responds to a pressing and urgent need internationally and domestically for evidence-based analysis, and community-engaged policy design to ensure sustainable resource-led development.

New knowledge will fill significant gaps in understanding the globalised nature of the mining industry, comprehending redistributive (regional, fiscal and industry) policies, and highlighting community and Indigenous experiences of resource-led development.
