Queensland New Economy Minerals Compilation

As part of the Queensland New Economy Minerals Compilation, supported by the Queensland Department of Resources, the BRC has been compiling geoscientific information and interpretations as an aid to exploration targeting for New Economy Minerals in the state. Compilations have been released in the GSQ Open Data Portal for Rare Earth Elements, Cobalt, Tin-Tungsten, and Silica.

The approach we have taken is based on the methodology established by Geoscience Australia, as described in prospectivity analyses for Ni-Cu-Co-PGE and IOCG Cu-Au-U-REE.

An important component of the project is an online tool that allows users to query the components of the prospectivity analysis and modify the weightings applied to different geoscientific criteria based on their own experience and preference. Links to the online tool are available below for ten of the deposit models considered to date. More will be added soon.
