The University of Queensland has partnered with Papua New Guinea's largest technological institution to support sustainable development outcomes across the country’s resources sector.
Nena Bulovic was one of only 19 early-career researchers from across Australia and New Zealand invited to participate in the third Australian Climate and Water Summer Institute (SI) hosted by the Australian National University.
JKMRC PhD student Ziming Ye was one of only 20 Australian young researchers invited to participate in the third Falling Walls Lab Australia in Canberra on 11 September.

The Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation and the Centre for Water in the Minerals Industry, also known collectively as the Environment Centres recently launched it EnvironMENTORS mentoring program as part of pilot program being led by UQ’s Graduate School.
This year’s SMI Networking Night was held on Thursday 14 June 2018. More than 30 UQ students attended from all SMI Centres, the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, and the School of Civil Engineering.
In collaboration with the Schools of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth and Environment Sciences, and Mechanical and Mining Engineering, the Sustainable Minerals Institute held the Amazing Race 2018.
